OPzV Battery

OPzV is a German-born designation for a specific, demanding construction: tubular positive plates, gelled electrolyte, valve-regulated case. The tubular plate — active material held in woven gauntlets around a spine — resists the shedding that kills flat plates under cycling, and the gel immobilises the electrolyte so the cell is sealed and maintenance-free. The result is the stationary battery of choice where replacement is expensive and failure is not an option: telecom plants, utilities, signalling and large solar banks. XD Battery manufactures OPzV cells in 2V format; the documented flagship is the 2V 1000Ah model at 73.2 kg in a 233 × 210 × 646 mm case, three-year warranty, OEM/ODM available.

The documented OPzV cells are two: the 1000Ah flagship above, and a further model the catalogue lists as the OPzV Battery 2-800AH — tagged as a 2V 800Ah OPzV battery. Any other capacity for a string is a quotation question, not a catalogue step.
